During 2009 I worked on a community arts project involving women participants from Feltham Arts over 60s group. This HLF funded reminiscence project was entitled 'Travel Treasures' and invited the women to explore the artwork of Marianne North, a Victorian botanical artist, and to share personal memories of travel which they recreated in collage and then handmade felt. Some participants chose to incorporate fragments of fabric, for example lace and sari materials, into their felt and the final pieces were exhibited at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham.
