As part of Creative Routes, artsdepot's annual project with local Barnet primary schools Felterskelter worked with some 340 children at Edgware Infants School to create an enormous felt beanstalk themed on the story of 'Jim and the Beanstalk' by Raymond Briggs. The children began by experimenting with fleece, rolling it between their palms to make simple felt strands (later used to make flowers for the vine). They learnt how to create felt balls whilst some helped to develop flat felt for the leaves. Others bound wire or tubing with fleece, felting it to create tendrils for the vine. Parent volunteers stitched the completed work together and it was exhibited at the Apthorp Gallery in 2008. The work is currently displayed at Edgware Infants School.
